Senior Joshua J. Meares, 17, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 3, 2022. He was the only child of Julie and Frank Meares. He was born on April 11, 2005 in Naperville, Illinois.

He is survived by his mother; his half-brother, James Bryan Meares; and his aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

Joshua was part of the Oswego High School Football team his sophomore and junior year. He loved football and his teammates. He wanted to improve his football skills by participating on the high school track team and found success in pole vaulting.

He was widely interested in computers and found enjoyment in building them, especially with his late father.

His visitation took place on June 14, and his Celebration of Life was at 11 a.m.

Hello, my name is Brady Monahan, and I am a Senior at Oswego High School. This is my second year of being part of the 42Fifty staff and I am enjoying my new role as Editor-in-Chief. I'm part of the Oswego Boys Varsity Golf team and look to possibly pursue golf in college. Other than sports, I love being outdoors and spending time with family and friends!
