The “Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” is the new sequel to the critically acclaimed “The Lego Movie.” All in all, this animated roller coaster is hilarious and will keep the audience entertained the entire time. It stars returning actors such as Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, as well as new actors like Tiffany Haddish and Stephanie Beatriz. From the soundtrack, jokes, and animation, this was a joy to watch from beginning to end.
The story follows Emmett (Pratt), Wyldstyle (Banks), Batman (Arnett) and friends who are trying to make sure that their home, Bricksburg, is out of harm’s way. The film starts out with a conflict with the main villains, the Lego Duplos. Once these villains arrive, an all-out war between the Legos and the Lego Duplos break out. Due to this, our three main characters are tasked with protecting their homeland and the Lego race as a whole.
The animation for the “Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” was amazing. It made the Legos look realistic when it was focused on them in their world. While having animations, the movie also used real Legos when it showed the children in the real world. The animated Legos resemble the real-life Legos very well, although they have really realistic facial animations. The animation in general is very well done and looks different from other movies within the same genre.
The humor in the “Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” is directed for both children and adults, which is a huge accomplishment for a comedy film. Even though the movie is made for kids, there were times when older kids and parents would be laughing as well as the little kids. Even the second time watching the film, I still found the jokes to be hilarious, and I am not even the target audience!
The soundtrack from the “Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” is filled with amazing and super catchy music that will keep people singing along after the credits roll. All the songs in the movie where catchy, especially the track Catchy Song by Dillon Francis feat. T-Pain. Personally, my favorite song from the “Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” was Not Evil by Tiffany Haddish, since it got stuck in my head and the lyrics were hilarious.
After seeing it a second time, the film was just as fresh and funny when I saw it the first time. The humor, amazing music, and a great cast really made this movie stand out. The “Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” was just as amazing as the first and I would recommend this to movie lovers and fans of the first film.
