From dresses to tuxedos, to flowers to boutonnieres, prom is filled with exciting stuff all around: and today is the day.
In recent years, promposals and hoco proposals have become more and more popular. People go all out to make their date feel special. Most students, even though they know they’re going with each other, still make a big deal out of asking their date to prom.

“I planned to surprise [my date] at my grandparents’ house and have everything waiting before she got there,” said OH junior Brayden Klein. “I got her flowers and had my mom waiting to get her reaction on video. I made the letters. She was very surprised and loved how I went all out instead of doing a sign.”
Klein’s girlfriend, OH junior Anna Mosher, said, “I love how he went all out. I was originally expecting a sign. He got me super pretty flowers and Buffalo Wild Wings, which made it even better.”
When students get asked, many post a photo on their Snapchat, and often their friends repost it on their story, showing their support and happiness for their friends. This was the case for OH junior Zoe Solomon.

Solomon was asked by her boyfriend, junior Nate Overstreet, with big signs in the hood of four trucks spelling out “PROM?”
It was very unexpected and also something I had never seen before. He got me flowers in my favorite color, which made me very happy,” Solomon said.
Some proposals get very creative. OH senior Brandon Salgado asked his best friend to prom on a horse with a sign that said, “I may not be Justin Bieber, but can I make you one less lonely girl at Prom?”
“The main idea came from knowing she’s always wanted a horse, so I thought it would be really special if I included that in the proposal. That’s why I decided to do it on a horse-I felt like it would make the moment more personal and something she’d genuinely love.”
Proposal signs have been a fun tradition for many years and will continue to keep growing and become more popular over the years,” Salgado said.
