Wrestling season just wrapped up, and two people from Oswego High School placed at the State tournament, down in Champaign, Ill.

It was a long and hard fight to get where both Gannon Hughes and Allen Swanson were. They both loved the time they had at state, and have been dreaming of this moment ever since they were very young.

Mr. Hughes, Gannon’s father, said “ He wasn’t born with all this talent, it took a lot of practice to where is today”.

Swanson and Hughes both have attended Oswego High School all four years, and have wrestled all four years. They have been wrestling on the varsity level ever since their Freshman year.

Coach Cook really enjoyed them this year. Gannon has committed to St. Cloud University and will be wrestling for them. Allen has done the same.

Now, Gannon went to Regionals and won, to make him a Regional champ. Then he moved to Sectionals and placed first there as well, which carried him over to the State tournament. Hughes placed fourth down in Champaign.

Allen Swanson also went to Regionals and was a Regional champion as well. He also moved onto Sectionals and placed second at the tournament, which qualified him a spot in the State tournament as well. Swanson also placed fourth at State, which gave Oswego Wrestling two state placers. Great job Panthers!
