With an impressive first place finish at their first competition in Batavia last Sat., the OH cheer team has shifted from sideline cheering at games to center stage in their competitive season building on last year's success of fifth in IHSA State. The team not only prepares and performs routines for cheerleading competitions, but they also attend basketball games to cheer on their school’s team, hyping up the crowd and boosting the players’ confidence.  “My goal is to win, well not only to win, but to also improve myself,” said backspot/tumbler, junior Aydan Dunne.
The OH Panthers traveled to Lane Tech on Sat., winning 45-10 in a dominant victory. This advances Oswego to the quarterfinals of the 8A IHSA playoffs. Below, see the photo essay replaying the Panther's win.
As fall sports wind down and winter falls, boys' wrestling is now starting up its season. Open mats and after-school practices have been letting the boys get back in shape, but the real deal is now here. The team's first match took place on Nov. 26 at Wheaton Warrenville South. Their second match on Nov. 29 was cancelled due to the snowstorm that took place that weekend. But despite this rocky start, the boys are still determined and excited for the season, hoping their hard work pays off.  “To prepare myself for the season, I took a lot of time to lift, and I watched a lot of film,” said OH senior and varsity wrestler Logan Nieves. “I am happy to say that I am very excited for the upcoming season.”
Finishing their season strong, the OH girls’ volleyball team won Regionals for the third time in a row. The 2025 team was a strong and supportive group that worked together through it all.  OH right side senior Renee Egger said, “We just stayed as a team the whole time. We always stayed as a family,” expressing how they became Regional champions three times.  Regionals was an end goal for the team. Many moments during the season made this a season to remember.
After years of waiting, lacrosse officially became a sanctioned IHSA sport in 2016, marking a significant change for all players and fans in the community, with the first state series in 2018. Now, lacrosse has come to OH and has started their first season. Lacrosse players across the US and those at OH have long advocated for the inclusion of the sport.  "I've been pushing for [[SD#308]] to have lacrosse here since my freshman year, so I'm glad they finally added it,” said senior Jackson Daylor.
