When you think of popular games in the 2010s, your mind may go to Tomodachi Life, a social simulator game for the 3DS. With its wide customization of “Mii” characters, ranging from different hairstyles, faces, and even a new face paint tool to free-hand any custom designs.
With an island for your Mii’s to roam around, talk to others, and decide that a lightpost is necessary in the middle of the beach.
Nintendo decided that with the release of the Switch 2, it may be time for the game to have a sequel, and to revive the old fanbase left behind. But was this a good choice? On Apr. 12, the internet took a storm as Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream was leaked, with the planned release date being the 16th.
“Amnesia: The Bunker” is a horror game released by Frictional Games on June 6, 2023. The game is set in the “Amnesia” series that started with “Amnesia: The Dark Descent”. Newer “Amnesia” games were not doing well, until “The Bunker” came out and turned the tables around for standards on “Amnesia” games.
We expected this game to be as boring as the previous two releases, but our expectations were exceeded by a pretty large margin.

While many Nintendo fans feel as if the nostalgia and popularity of the Mario Brothers make each game good by default, “Princess Peach: Showtime!,” released on the Nintendo Switch on March 24 is proof that not all Mario games follow this trend.
“[[A Princess Peach game made]] me excited, especially seeing modern Mario games and how far they’ve come. I’m sure it’ll be a very unique experience, yet still similar to past games. It’ll be fun to see how they can twist the usual formula of Peach being kidnapped while Mario saves her,” said senior Destiny Mendoza.
The game is not terrible, of course. It is a break from the norm, of Peach being a damsel-in-distress. It is even a solid 7/10 according to IGN. The issue is it is just okay. The game feels uninspired, unoriginal, and underdeveloped, at best.
“Lethal Company” is a co-op horror game made by Zeekerrs and was released on Oct. 23, 2023. The game grew in popularity in November and was the top seller globally on Steam.
“Lethal Company” has a vague story and very little lore. Workers are working for “The Company” and are sent to different abandoned moons to collect scrap which they then sell to a creature inside the company building. There are various monsters and enemies roaming around the facilities. The team has to meet a quota so the crew can avoid being shot into space.
