Every October, the MLB playoffs heat up, and everyone is invested on who will bring home the Commissioner’s Trophy. Most people wonder if it will be the teams that open their checkbooks the widest, or those that rely on smart decision making, investments, and management that will make history.
While money certainly helps, it’s good team management — not excessive spending — that matters most for making a deep playoff run.
The temptation to expect the champion to be big spenders like the Dodgers and Yankees makes sense. They repeatedly appear in the playoffs and both are in the top 5 for spending money on their team payroll.
“History is filled with examples of high-spending teams that came short in October,” said OH senior Nate Muellner.
The upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) has generated excitement among students at OH and gamers worldwide in the lead up to its release on Nov. 19, 2026. Developed by Rockstar Games, the highly anticipated game has attracted attention for its improved graphics, open-world environment, and new gameplay features.
After years of anticipation and delays, players are eager to see whether GTA VI will live up to expectations. OH students have different reasons for looking forward to the release, from exploring the game’s map to experiencing improvements in its mechanics.
OH senior Ethan Pilip said, “I’m interested in GTA VI because of the graphics in the open world and the freedom to do different things that GTA V didn’t have.”
A new Dean’s Assistant (DA) Visandro Velasquez has joined OH for the ‘26-27 school year, bringing another person to help support students, staff, and the school’s deans.
Velasquez is joining the DA team and will spend his time helping students, keeping an eye on the hallways and making sure students are following school rules.
“What interested me [[in this role]] was more of a challenge for myself and helping people closer to my age, since I understand them better,” Velazquez said.
His daily responsibilities include monitoring the halls and being in his designated section each period, making sure students are where they are supposed to be and helping keep the school safe.
“I want students to know that I can be another mentor," he said, "or someone they can trust and talk to when needed.”
