During today's OH Homecoming Pep Assembly, the 2026 Homecoming King and Queen were announced: seniors Danny Claycombe and Emma Francheschini took home the hardware.
The nominations were released Sep. 3, and since then, students were scrambling to vote for their favorite pair in one of Homecoming’s biggest traditions.
“I chose to run for Homecoming Court because a lot of my friends were doing it, and I thought it would be fun if all my friends and I got [[on]] court,” said OH Senior Reagan Zaccardi, who posted on her Instagram and Snapchat stories immediately after voting came out.
Most of the time, students who run for homecoming court are either a couple or friends with other candidates.
On Aug. 27, OH staff and students faced an unexpected challenge: school printers were mysteriously and immediately not working, leaving staff and students to scramble with alternative assignments.
OH went without printers for several days, causing concern and possible setbacks for staff. “Not knowing how long we would be without this luxury,” was a major concern according to OH Career and Technical Education teacher Nancy Wyatt.

Both color and black-and-white printers, which students and staff rely on everyday, are still in high demand even though OH is a 1:1 technology school.
Students and staff at OH are stepping into a new era of school pride with the completion of a renovated main gym floor designed with input from the entire OH community.
The replacement became necessary after severe water damage ruined the old floor and made it unusable. OH Athletic Director Daniel Arntzen said the project prioritized collaboration with students and staff.
“We wanted something that honors the history of the orange and blue court we had before," Artzen said. "Student input was honestly the deciding factor.”
On Sat. May 16, OH celebrated the graduating class of 2026. Along with an announced 700 graduates, thousands of friends, family, and staff watched in support aa the 139th OH graduating class walked across the stage and began a new chapter of life.
That chapter, according to OH SchoolLinks data, will take the Class of '26 to a wide range of places in the United States, but as Graduation Keynote Speaker and OH '26 graduate Hailey Nass said, "Time is pushing us into something new. The clock isn't going to stop ticking, so don't wait for that perfect time: take the risk."
That "something new" for a majority of graduates, 62.44%, means seeking a 4-year degree from a college or university. However, 84.71% plan to continue their education in some way with post-high school education, according to self-reported data as collected by SchoolLinks, the SD#308 student information platform used by Student Services to help students with college and career planning.
During the 2023-2024 school year, OH gym teachers have enforced a gym dress code with verbal announcements and posters that slippers, pajamas, khakis, and more aren't allowed to be worn during gym classes.
