Freshman Noah Allan McIntyre, 15, unexpectedly died on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020. He passed away with his family surrounding him at Loyola Hospital. He was born on Oct. 27, 2004 in Aurora, Illinois.
On Friday, Jan. 24, Oswego High School’s student council held the semi-annual blood drive for OHS students and staff to donate blood. The blood drive has been a planned activity of the Student Council for over five years.
In today’s society, many kids and teenagers are becoming more addicted to their phones as parents and others are giving them easier access to phones at a young age. When students are on their phones more, it causes them to lose focus and not have good attention spans. Phone usage is causing students to become more focused on their phones and their surrounding peers, rather than focusing on school and their future in education.
With graduation restructured and prom canceled at OHS, the class of 2020 won’t be given the same experience as previous graduates. This is an unfair phenomenon, to say the least, as some students have waited so long for these moments in their lives that unfortunately might become wasted dreams.
