Coachella is back and bigger than ever. With new headliners, creative outfits, buzzing socials, and stunning performances, Coachella has once again caught the world’s attention.

This April, the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was held from April 10–12 and 17–19 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA.

“Coachella 2026 returned to the desert with a lineup and energy that reinforced its status as one of the most influential music festivals in the world,” said an article from Trop News.

The headliners

Coachella’s main attraction is its world-renowned headline performances. Coachella 2026 featured a stunning lineup, with headliners Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G, who all truly lived up to the hype.

OH sophomore Simone Griggs said, “I loved many of the performers, but I think the one that I enjoyed the most was Sabrina. because her set had many different flashy onstage outfit changes, and I knew most of the songs.”

Sabrina Carpenter delivered a lively performance featuring her hits “Espresso,” “Feather,” and “Please Please Please.” With stunning visuals, creative choreography, and jaw-dropping outfit ensembles, Carpenter carried out an eye-catching show.

Justin Bieber’s headline performance broke records. With a huge audience, unique performance, and a setlist filled with chart-toppers, Bieber took Coachella by storm, with some fans calling the weekend Bieberchella.

“Bieberchella, hosted the comeback performance of Justin Bieber… His long-awaited comeback shows quickly took over everyone’s for you pages. With his raw, unfiltered, and stripped-down performance at Coachella 2026, Justin Bieber broke almost all the possible stereotypes and records the desert music festival has ever seen,” said an article from Prestige.

Justin wasn’t the only headliner breaking records. Performer Karol G was announced as the first Latina to headline Coachella, proudly representing her culture and fanbase.

“I’m Carolina Giraldo Navarro from Medellín, Colombia, and today, I am the first Latina woman to headline at Coachella,” said singer Karol G during her performance.

Looking to her fans in the crowd, Karol added, “This is for my Latinos that have been struggling in this country lately. I stand for my Latina community… I want everyone to feel proud of where you come from.”

Coachella couture

Every year, Coachella outdoes itself with new and fashionable looks. Whether it’s performers, dancers, or attendees, everyone is wearing something unique and creative.

In recent years, it has become tradition to wear custom-designed one-of-a-kind attire and, alongside that, post pictures in it, which raises the question: What fashion statements were made in 2026?

Coachella 2026 fashion was defined by a desert bohemian aesthetic. Key style elements included micro-shorts, mini-skirts, sheer lace, and crochet. Some were inspired by the modern Western aesthetic, wearing boots, cowboy hats, and suede.

According to an article from Trop News, “Fashion played a major role, as attendees used the event as a platform for self-expression. From bold outfits to carefully planned looks, the visual aspect of Coachella remains just as important as the music.”

The media often has mixed views about Coachella fashion, especially when it comes to celebrities and influencers.

“I like that people are starting to be more unique with their outfits, but sometimes people are a little bit too unique, where it kind of looks crazy. I disliked how a lot of the outfits this year were very neutral. I think we need to bring some more colors,” said Griggs.

Surprise guests

Coachella has become synonymous with its surprise guest features, and this year, Coachella’s surprise guests caught audiences’ attention with their iconic and unannounced performances.

According to an article from Forbes, “If Coachella 2026 was already a musical weekend to remember, the special guests will make it even more so.”

With 95 surprise guests this year, audiences were in for a treat, but some stood out among others. Madonna appeared during Sabrina Carpenter’s headlining set and sang hits like “Vogue” and “Like A Prayer.”

Olivia Rodrigo joined Addison on Stage to perform Rodrigo’s recently released song “Drop Dead.”

Griggs said, “Justin Bieber brought out Billie Eilish Big Sean, but my favorite was SZA because I literally love her. She came out with Justin Bieber and sang “Snooze Remix,” and I really liked that. I also liked Zara Larsson’s surprise performance.”

Life is a festival

Coachella 2026 was one for the books. With popular headliners, stunning performances, fashionable couture, and surprise guests, this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival made a mark on festival history.

Whether people were there in California watching the performances live or in bed watching the performances on their phones, they each experienced Coachella 2026’s brilliance.

According to an article from Trop News, “Even for those who could not attend, widespread media coverage, social media clips and audience reactions made it possible to understand the overall impact of the festival.”
