New OH Students Services AP Kate Lippoldt has eagerly jumped into her new role, helping with fall testing, along with providing support to students throughout their high school experience.

“Once I worked in High School for a few years, I found I liked supporting adults too, so I became an administrator,” said assistant principal Kate Lippoldt.

Lippoldt chose the high school educational level because she believes that “high school is so cool! [[…]] it is when you put together everything you learned and who you are becoming to find your path.”

With Student Services Department Chair Dr. Patti Marcinko, Lippoldt provides support to Student Services, including all counselors, social workers, school psychologists, and 504 coordinators. She also oversees testing like ACT and PSAT.  “I thoroughly enjoy working with Mrs. Lippoldt. It has been a really smooth start of the school year,” said Marcinko.

Marcinko also described their big goals for college and career planning at OH, which represents a change in sharing college and career planning for OH students. ”We are looking forward to our Careers Week coming up in October,” said Marcinko. This is a goal both Lippoldt and Marcinko have for the Student Services team as a positive impact on OH students.

Managing many tasks at once is not easy, but Lippoldt has shown how hard work and dedication pay off in her work. “I always wanted to work with kids, but in college, I had a professor who suggested I work in school psychology, so I did!” said Lippoldt.

Lippoldt’s job as both an assistant principal and overseeing Student Services “fulfills her interests in helping kids and adults. She has two main sources of inspiration each day. “I’m inspired by the students I work with and my own kids,” Lippoldt said.

Lippoldt earned her bachelor’s degree at Truman State University and her master’s degree from Northern Illinois University. She also has an administration certificate from Aurora University.
