The girls' varsity basketball team is starting the year differently, with a big role-change in their coach: Venita Parsons. This has changed how they will play and their growth in confidence. Last year, the team ended their season 14-18 and 3-12 in Conference. With the new coach Parsons, they will be able to take a big step this year.  “These past years, we haven’t had the best record, but this year I’m hoping that with a new coach, we can win the Conference and build a team together,” said OH senior basketball player Ashley Cooks.

During their off-season, the team was focused on building their chemistry up, as well as staying as disciplined as they can for their season. In the Guildford game, OH senior basketball player Brayden Borrowman hit a three-pointer in the last remaining seconds to win the game 59-58. Borrowman averaged 7.7 points and 7 rebounds in all three games, followed by OH junior basketball player Tj Wilson, who averaged 4.7 points and two rebounds.

OH junior cross country and track runner Bo Breed has many accomplishments and is having a breakout season. He is ready to become a leader and lead the track team to success.  “He takes his leadership role very seriously," said OH senior Daniel Odutola. "Whenever I see him, you know, it makes me want to try harder." Last year, during Breed’s sophomore year, he qualified for State and competed in the New Balance Nationals, where he ran an 800 meter run in 1:59.03. These are huge accomplishments for Breed; they make him stand out and show his work ethic.
