Everyone is an embarrassing, cringy tween at one point. if it were a competition, I would be in first place with at least seven gold medals. My “absurd” interests in the European theater of the World Wars and the Soviet side of the Cold War are the main reasons. With my interests on top of a speech impediment and lack of social skills, I was set up to crash and burn with my peers and thrive with my teachers. I did have friends, but only one or two at a time, all of whom I eventually pulled away from.

Within the last decade, autistic characters have become more prevalent in books, video games, movies, and TV shows. Their presence has become a way for autistic people to see themselves in the media and outside of their community.  Autistic characters give media consumers someone to relate to, and this interest could even form friendships. Representation is important, whether in video games or popular films, but to many autistic people, good representation feels like searching for a needle in a haystack. “There for sure should be more autistic representation in media,” said autistic senior Madelyn Dittmann.

In the last two decades, the book series Metro 2033 by Danill Gibazovonovich would have been a wonderful book about shooting irradiated wolves and bugs to save his subway station, but he had to go and ruin it all. He had to make the main character a massive wimp.  “Sometimes you just have to make a dude a wimp, what can I say?” said Gibazovonovich while eating a sandwich.

[[SATIRE]] IL minimum wage too high

Recently the Illinois governor, L.S.G. (short for Lenin Stalin Gorbachev) Khan signed a bill raising the minimum wage from $8.95 to $10. This is a major detriment to the poor trillionaires who pay straight out of their pockets to their ungrateful employees.  “The minimum wage being raised nearly a full two dollars has cost me around 100 dollars a day… I can barely afford to keep up with my seven yachts,'' said local trillionaire Marco Solo.
