Opinion: OH Prom felt more like HoCo 2.0
“Once Upon a Time,” (actually, last weekend), awash in purple lights, the dance floor shook with DJ mixes of popular music and a pit of prom-goers as they jumped in sweaty groups, having the time of their lives. Was this homecoming? Sounds like it could have been, but it was OH prom. The Sat., May 3 prom at The Matrix Club in Naperville was lively, but there were no strong hints of spring romance in the air, leaving many couples feeling disappointed that they missed out on a romantic, slow-paced prom experience like they had seen in the movies.

A recent resurgence of popularity in the e-sports world dedicated to the intense accuracy game has led to Coach Gamerson adding Peggle to the new season of competitive esports.

After what were at first dismissed reports of creepers in downtown Oswego, hundreds of residents began sharing sightings of the green, boxy creatures in various locations throughout Oswego in recent days. "I wasn't sure if it was a publicity stunt to promote the upcoming flop of a film," OH junior Piers Markus said of the not-yet-released Minecraft movie. "But then, when I brought home one of the perfectly cuddly little guys, my mom freaked." Dirty Dead: A local cover band we should all be grateful for
The Grateful Dead has had a major influence on the world of rock and roll as a pioneer of jam rock. They've also influenced a group of OH students to form a band. The Dead's unique fusion of all kinds of rock, blues, jazz, and world music popularized rock as a genre and left room for creativity for future rock bands to work with. The footprint left in rock as a music genre is one to remember and honor, which is what several students at OH have been doing by creating a cover band to celebrate the Grateful Dead and their influence on rock music. “I feel like it was just at a certain point where we realized everybody likes listening to the Grateful Dead, and everybody plays an instrument," said OH senior and band member Charlie DeCarlo. "So we thought, why not [[start a band]]?”
GTA VI: Release confirmed for Fall ’25
It has been 11 years since the release of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) V, and now the Fall'25 release of GTA VI is one of the most anticipated games of all time. GTA VI has been in the works since 2013, and because of the 11-year creation and development period, a lot of people have high expectations for the game. “[[GTA VI]] is gonna spark a whole new genre of games entirely,” said OH junior Trevor Davis.The series is arguably one of the most well-known pieces of media of the modern day; GTA V is the highest-grossing media title of all time, outranking any book, movie, or TV show in terms of money made off of purchases.
