Valentines: A day to spread love and appreciation

Flowers, dates, chocolate, and heart-shaped notes. What’s not to love about Valentine's Day? This sweet holiday, celebrated on Feb. 14, is all about spreading love and appreciation for one another.  “I think whether it’s a romantic relationship or a friendship it’s about showing your love for everyone and the people you care about,” said senior Emmerson Kelsey. “I think my boyfriend and I are going to go out to dinner or he’s going to make me a meal and we’ll watch a movie.”

With podcast hosts Bryli Elizondo, Madi Gilio, and Katelyn Clemons, a few boys basketball players share their insights on the season, especially with new head coach Nick Orham. From the first win against Waubonsee Valley High School to winning Regionals, the OH girls volleyball team played to their fullest potential according to Head Coach Gary Mosley.  “I'm extremely proud of them. Do I think they played to their fullest potential? Absolutely. Above their potential. As a team, the growth they made from the beginning to the end was impressive so they exceeded my expectations," said Mosley.

Ready, set, cheer: OH’s upcoming competitive season

Transitioning into the competitive cheer season means the Oswego cheerleaders are expanding their training. Practices are starting to get longer and more intense, with a bigger focus on conditioning, strength training, and flexibility. With a demanding competition schedule ahead, the team is more focused than ever, on perfecting every move, stunt, and cheer as they aim for another standout this season.
