Photo Essay: ABC countdown celebrates seniors
In the final 26 days of the school year, the annual senior ABC countdown is held for seniors dress up according to themed dress-up day. "I've been looking forward to the ABC countdown all year. It's a great way to bond as a senior class over the variety of ways we can interpret each theme," said senior Tennille Johnson. Many students participate in this as it is the last “spirit days” of their high school career and a school tradition for seniors to end the year.
Author Katerina Speers visits OH’ Creative Writing class
elements of writing and publishing a book. In her presentation, she discussed writer’s block, building more emotion and depth into characters, as well as finding one's way to writing. Speers opened up her speech with an icebreaker, Two Truths and a Lie, except all her statements were true. “The point of the exercise is, you don’t know me until you get to know me. What you see here is just one persona,” said Speers.
Twins with a Truck: OH seniors Cole and Aidan Gaston help Oswego haul
After observing a demand for help in transporting heavy objects in Oswego, senior twins Cole and Aidan Gaston started up their business, Twins with a Truck. Since their launch in the summer of '22, whether clients needed a truck provided or were physically unable to move something, the Gastons were there to help. “Our mom kinda [[bragged]] on us to a bunch of people for lifting heavy stuff, so we said, ‘What the heck, might as well make some money off of it!’ That’s how we started our business,” said OH senior Cole Gaston.
