I am a senior at OH and so excited to be a Managing and Opinions Section Editor this year! I love working on 42Fifty, but I am also very involved in band and numerous honor societies here. Looking forward to doing great work this year!

Noah Kahan: Rising king of folk-rock music

Noah Kahan was a part of the music industry for years before he garnered the following he has today. He released his first studio album “Busyhead” in 2019 and his second full-length album, “I Was / I Am” in 2021, but neither of these generated as much buzz as his teasing a new song called “Stick Season” on TikTok in 2020. After his posting, Kahan gained instant popularity and was sent into the limelight of pop music in record time.

The Hunger Games series written by Suzanne Collins is one of the most prolific franchises to date. With three books and four movies debuting between 2008 and 2015, the series garnered a worldwide audience and achieved startling success throughout the trilogy and subsequent movie adaptations.

The winter months are hard for everyone, especially students. Most of the school year is spent between the months of December and March, both the coldest and dreary of times, making it difficult for students to enjoy their surroundings.

Halloween is a holiday that simply is not for everyone. A large part of Halloween is the fear-based environment surrounding festivities, such as going to haunted houses or watching horror films with friends, but some people do not have the same excited attitude about these activities, especially surrounding watching scary movies.
