Moroney is on cloud 9 with her new album drop, ‘Cloud 9’
On Feb. 20, Megan Moroney dropped her third studio album called "Cloud 9." This album features popular artists, too, like Ed Sheeran and Kacey Musgraves. OH junior Payton Forbes said, “My immediate reaction to her new album was wow, just wow.” This album features 15 songs, with three dropping before the release date. Six months later, "Beautiful Things" and "Wish I Didn’t" dropped. Moroney has given her fans easter eggs in the lead-up to her album release. On MeganMoroney.com, teasers on Nov. 9, 2025, led to her announcing "Cloud 9" on Nov. 11, 2025.
Boys co-op swim dives into Sectionals after becoming Conference champs at home
On Sat. February 7 2026, Oswego boys co-op swim and dive hosted the conference at OE. After a series of very fortunate events, the boys secured an amazing conference win. “It's like a confidence booster for everybody because we knew we were going to win, but the way we did helped the sectional team moving forward,” said senior Ethan Schrader As a team sport, everyone has individual roles and goals for themselves; however, a positive team atmosphere and culture make a huge difference in the mental and physical performance of athletes. “It really set the tone for sectionals, it was a varsity sweep,” said junior Jaxon Rapper

Coach Cooney joins Navy All-American Bowl after appearance at IHSA State finals
On Sat. 10th, 2026, Oswego High School head varsity football coach Brian Cooney has taken Panther Pride to a national level after being selected to coach in the Navy Bowl, one of the country's premier high school all-American football games. OH senior Kaleb Stumpenhorst said, “He's been putting in a lot of work since he started here. He played here and then went through everything.” The honor of being selected to coach not only put Cooney in the spotlight but the whole Panther football program in the national spotlight, highlighting years of dedication to the program. Cooney said the opportunity came unexpectedly. “I received a phone call from a member of this All-Star Game who informed me that they would like to extend the opportunity for me to coach in this game.”
Hard work, dedication pays off: Grant breaks school career-point record
To say OH senior point guard Kendall Grant had a good winter break would be an understatement. On Dec. 27, 2025, Grant broke a school record for the '25-26 girls basketball team, earning her a place in school history and attaining a personal goal. In four years here at OH, Grant scored her 1,000th career point against Downers Grove South at the Carl Sandburg Holiday Tournament. “I've been playing basketball since I was in kindergarten, so that's been a long time, but I think freshman year was like a big wake-up call cause I started on the freshman team and then I got put on varsity and then that's sort of when the goal came to like like, I could see that it was like a possibility,” said Grant.
