Forza Horizon 6: A fan favorite
Almost five years after Forza Horizon 5 came out, fans finally have the next game in this series. The long-awaited Horizon 6 is coming out on May 19 for everyone, and on May 15 for those with the premium addition. Also, for those who pre-order it, players will receive a 2017 Ferrari J50. Fans have been waiting what feels like ages for the game to take place in Japan, and it's finally here. There's nothing wrong with the locations of the previous games, but having the map set in Japan will be a dream come true for many car enthusiasts.
Humor and horror: Ready or not, here I go
"Ready or Not 2 Here I Come" was a sequel to "Ready or Not" in 2019, which had a very interesting theme of comedy mixed with horror and action. "Ready or Not" began with Grace marrying the man of her dreams at his family's luxurious estate. There's just one catch: The family made a demonic pact requiring her to now hide from midnight until dawn while her new in-laws hunt her with guns, crossbows, and other weapons.
Dunkin’ drive-thru debate: Morning boost or traffic bust?
Students and staff at OH have mixed feelings after Dunkin’ Donuts opened along Route 71 near the school's campus. While the new drive-thru offers a convenient morning stop, several students say it has added confusion and congestion to an already busy area. OH sophomore Layla Rafeh said the location has quickly become part of her weekly routine, but not without drawbacks. “Honestly, it can be good, but it’s also really terrible during traffic,” Rafeh said. “Everyone’s trying to get to school, and a bunch of the bus routes have changed, so it’s even worse. It’s just like a whole hassle.”
Black Ops: A dying legacy
On Nov. 14, 2025, Activision released its seventh title in the Black Ops series, Black Ops 7 (BO7). This was with partners like Treyarch, Raven Software, Infinity Ward, and Sledgehammer Games. Interestingly, there is a gap, anywhere from two to four years, when the Blacks Ops games were released between 2010 to 2024. And players of the game took notice. OH senior Malachi Curtis said, “To make BO7 better, they should’ve developed it more and just not released it as soon as they did.” Taking time to make something will pretty much make it better every time.
Impact of Operation Resolve in Venezuela felt here in Oswego, 2,681 miles away
On Jan. 3, on the orders of President Trump, the United States Armed Forces launched Operation Resolve. While this seems far away from OH (2,681 miles to be exact), it hit close to home for junior Luis Larrazabal, who lived in Venezuela for 10 years before moving to the United States. Larrazabal heard of Operation Resolve early in the morning, filled at first with disbelief at the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. “It was around 1:00 in the morning. Uh, I didn't believe it at first," he said. "Then my cousins were going crazy like, ‘Oh, they got him! They got him!’ So, I went into the phone. I searched into the news. I saw what happened.” Once the initial shock subsided, Larrazabal was able to process what this meant for his family back in Venezuela. “I mean, I'm happy about it, but at the same time, I know nothing's gonna like change as long as the same government remains,“ he said.
