Fantasy football has become one of the most popular ways for fans to stay engaged with the NFL.
Each week, millions of fans set up lineups, make trades, and hope their players deliver wins to help their teams succeed. For many, it’s more than just a game; it’s a strategic plan.
“Currently, my team is 9-4, [which is] not the best record,” said OH senior Hassan Lawal. “But [I’m] still second in my league, and hopefully my players can clutch up in the playoffs.”
The goal in fantasy football is straightforward: build the best lineup you can. Managers draft players before the season starts and can then adjust their roster based on injuries, matchups, and bye weeks.

Success depends on drafting, trusting your instincts, and staying active all season if you want to win.
Trading is a key part of fantasy. Smart trades can save a season, especially when a top player gets injured. Managers who watch trends and look for undervalued players often have the best chance to win those trades.
“I’ve made a lot of good trades this season,” said OH senior Nate Bjes. “Trades have had a huge impact on me during this season. At first, I was doing so great, but now my team is in 4th place, now being 7-6 after a big win from last week’s performance, and hopefully for the playoffs, we can end up on top.”
Many students at OH check their player updates often, during lunch or after school, trying to stay ahead of the game.
Fantasy brings people together. Friends, families, and classmates create leagues that lead to trash talk, competition, and a lot of fun. Even when a team isn’t playing its best, leagues can still keep everyone involved.
With the playoffs approaching, students say every lineup decision feels like the one that could decide their season.
“I believe my team can win the league. I have a robust lineup, so I’m very confident that I’ll win my league,” said Bjes.
Week 14 has featured several standout performances across the NFL. Featured in the sidebar are the top 10 fantasy football players from week 14.
No matter who wins fantasy, students can agree that fantasy football keeps everyone together and locked in for each week.
