Kellers Farmstand in Oswego offers many fall festivities for OH students and Oswego residents. The farm stand is a staple among Oswego residents, and many beloved activities are open again for fall.

“I see OH students and their families visiting the farm pretty often because there are a lot of people from Oswego who work here,” said OH senior and Keller’s employee Rebecca Dutton.

“It’s very family-friendly, [and] there’s something for everyone—apples, apple cider donuts, a big play area, pumpkins, and a corn maze,” Dutton added.

For Dutton, the best part of working at Keller’s is watching those simple moments of joy unfold.

“My favorite part is seeing people having fun and spending quality time together,” she said, her eyes lighting up. “It‘s just a happy place to be.”

OH senior Cameron Fichtel echoed that sentiment, describing the farm as both a job and a space for meaningful interaction.

“It’s a fun place to work on the weekends, you see your friends from school and families that you know,” Fichtel said with a grin. “It shows you the good in the world, and working there makes you feel like you’re making a difference in another kid’s life just by being there.”

Across the fields, OH senior and Keller’s employee Adrian Luna praised the laid-back, welcoming environment. “It’s really chill and fun to work there,” Luna said, adding, “It’s a great first job, and there’s a bunch of stuff to do — the apple orchard, corn maze, animal barn, pumpkin patch, and the farm stand with food.”

What makes Keller’s truly special, the students agreed, is how it connects people—not just from OH, but from the wider community too.

Between the smell of warm donuts, the rustling of corn stalks, and the sound of kids running through the maze, Keller’s offers a feeling that’s hard to find anywhere else: belonging.

Lots of work goes into Keller’s right before fall to make sure all of these great activities are ready for visiting families.

Luna talked about the work employees must do for fall, saying, “a lot of it is predetermined, we have people come in and set up the corn maze and figure that out, programming and setting it up. We also have other people come in for the animal barn. They mainly take care of the animals, so we do a couple of weeks before fall just to tidy up.”

All the preparation in the fall results in a place where people of all ages can find something entertaining and fun.

Dutton noted that the farm’s diverse activities keep visitors engaged regardless of age. “There are areas for little kids to run around and play, while teenagers enjoy hanging out with friends or going on dates. It really brings people together,” she said.

Whether it’s navigating the corn maze, tasting fresh apple cider donuts, or exploring the pumpkin patch, Keller’s Farmstand remains a cherished fall destination — a place where memories are made, friendships are strengthened, and the Oswego community comes together in celebration of the season.

Keller’s Farmstand closes for the season on Oct. 31, and is open from 10 am – 2 pm on Halloween.
