With an eye on stunning photography and impeccable digital design, the Oswego Panther Media Club quickly gained attention during the ’25-26 school year.

Club Sponsor and OH Assistant Principal Katherine Lippoldt said, “The idea for Panther PR started with senior Maddie Liska last school year. As she was getting more into photography, and sports photography in particular, she found a need for a place where students could work together and grow their skills.”

Students within this group aim to help create a photo collage of different sports such as football, soccer, and volleyball. The team’s Instagram page has also gained over 700 followers already. With Panther Media Club President Maddie Liska, Vice President Justin Holden, and Social Media Manager Audrey Vlna, the club gathers and captures the life and light of the school.

Holden said, “It’s more unique and people like to get their pictures taken – and they get them for free from us, plus we post them on social media.”

The group meets once a week at the beginning of the school year to plan out who will take photos of what. Eventually, they plan to meet once or twice a month as the school year progresses and people know what to do.

“The club is new this year, so the first meeting was like an overview, and then the second one was general rules, like sideline etiquette,” said Liska.

During their meetings, they also acquire media passes that allow them to get front row seats on the field, allowing closer and better quality action shots for photos. The meetings also gather a sense of collaboration because, typically, individuals compete in photo contests.

“The group is also available to help with designing fliers, developing social media content, or anything else they might think of to help promote all the great things that are happening with their group at OHS,” said Lippoldt.

Between capturing important moments or promoting a milestone, the team is capable of doing it. Talented students have started to use their skills to bring visuals to media, design, and photography.

For the people who wish to experience a new hobby, Liska said, “Just try it out. A lot of people do it so there are a lot of resources to help. It’s also a super fun hobby, and there is a lot you can learn with the amount of art within it.”
