Fantastic Four: First Steps premiered in theaters on July 25, making it accessible to audiences in nearly every movie theater. People who have seen it firmly believe that over the years, the balance in movies has shifted too heavily toward dialogue at the expense of action.

The initial reception of this newest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) appears promising, boasting an impressive 87% score on Rotten Tomatoes alongside a solid 7.3/10 rating on IMDb. However, the enthusiastic critics’ praise stands in stark contrast to the sentiments expressed by viewers, who seem to hold a decidedly different perspective on the film.

OH senior John Collins “wasn’t really expecting much of the movie itself” when he anticipated seeing the film. “I thought it would be decent, but it turned out to be very excellent. The movie was great, and I’d give it an 8 or maybe 8.5/10.”

Critics have noted that the movie has a slow pace and a flawed script. People who have seen it firmly believe that over the years, the balance in movies has shifted too heavily toward dialogue at the expense of action.

This trend is not noticeable, but it’s also something that can be easily remedied. With a simple shift back to the dynamic, adrenaline-fueled scenes that once captivated audiences, filmmakers can reignite the excitement that cinema is meant to deliver.

It’s time to embrace that thrilling energy once again. Opinions on the movie are mixed; some say it was excellent, while others believe that superhero movies have lost their appeal.

People believe that the filmmakers should change their approach, incorporating more action and less dialogue or backstory. Additionally, many people believe that the old Fantastic Four movies were significantly better than the newer ones for this reason.

This prevailing trend could swiftly be turned around by embracing a more dynamic approach that prioritizes action over mere conversation. By shifting the focus in this way, we would likely witness a dramatic transformation in the atmosphere of social gatherings.

Imagine the ripple effect—more laughter, vibrant energy, and a palpable sense of togetherness as people flock to share cinematic experiences with friends and family. The allure of a shared movie night could reclaim its place at the heart of social interactions, drawing in crowds eager to connect through the magic of storytelling on the big screen.

“Yeah, I’d recommend it to anyone, really, especially if they like comics,” Collins added. “It’s one of Marvel’s best of the 2020s, so I’d really ask for anyone who says the MCU fell off to watch this movie.”
