Unsurprisingly, I am not the person I was when I walked into high school my freshman year. I have grown academically, emotionally, and physically. But there has always been one consistent thing in my life throughout my high school career, and that is my family.
Although there are ups and downs in my family, we are always there to support each other, no matter what happens. When I told my parents I wanted to become an engineer, they supported me unconditionally.
No matter what I told them I wanted to do, and however many times I changed which college was number one on my list, they were always there to give me advice and support me in whatever decisions I made.
My mom always wants the best for me and my sisters. Although it gets a little frustrating, she will always push me to be the best person and student I can be, because she always knows I have it in me, even when I don’t know it myself.

My dad has so much wisdom and advice that he is not afraid to share, even if it means an hour-long lecture at 10 p.m. Whether it is about how to drive a car and road safety, or about having responsibilities, I always know he is there to give me advice about anything.
Whenever I need a good laugh or a good cry, which happens a lot, I always know I can go to my sisters and best friends for one. I can always go to my sisters with anything at any time, even though we sometimes wake our parents up with our laughter in the middle of the night.
Even hours away, I always know that they will pick up the phone when I call home. I will forever be thankful for the amazing and beautiful family that I have, and I would not be graduating without their unconditional love and support.
My name is Andrea and this is my first year as a 42Fifty staff reporter! I am a senior at OHS and am involved in many honor societys. I am so excited to write many stories this year.
