Lollapalooza is an annual four-day music festival that occurs at Grant Park, Chicago, IL. This summer’s lineup includes Tyler the Creator, Hozier, Sza, Stray Kids, The Killers, Future X Metro Boomin, Skrillex, Blink-182, and Melanie Martinez.
“I have heard about Lolla. I have a couple of artists I’m interested in seeing, but I’m more excited about attending since Metro is performing as one of the main artists,” said OH senior Christian Acevado Fuentes.
Lollapalooza garners much attention nationwide. Like Coachella, it features top-notch fashion, diverse music, and a variety of food options.
Some expectations for Tyler the Creator include high-energy performances, creative stage design, and the possibility of surprise guest appearances. Other artists like Hozier, SZA, and Melanie Martinez offer unique experiences fit for their personas and music styles.
Melanie Martinez brings visually stunning and immersive performances and storytelling that bring her albums to life on stage. Stray Kids provides high-energy performances and powerful choreography. The well-known K-pop group brings an electrifying atmosphere that showcases their charisma and talent.
Future and Metro Boomin provide electrifying beats as well as a mix of trap and hip-hop hits. Some notable artists include Kesha, Pierce the Veil, Laufey, TV Girl, Coan Grey, Ive, Victoria Monnet, and Vince the Staples.
The genres include R&B, hip-hop, rock, pop, folk, EDM, funk, and country, with various sub-genres like indie, jazz, metal, k-pop, j-pop, and much more.
Pre-sales began on March 21, and prices increased rapidly after the pre-sale ended. Tickets can be bought through the official website. Tickets offer a one-day pass, a two-day pass, and a four-day pass; however, the four-day pass has sold out. Once a ticket has been sold out, fans can sign up for a waitlist.
