There is no better way to spend the holiday season than baking and allowing the aroma of cinnamon and vanilla to fill your household. Putting on your favorite Christmas movie or listening to your favorite Christmas songs while mixing things up in the kitchen is the perfect way to spread some Christmas cheer!
“We make cookies together as a whole family,” senior Quinn Wille said. “It started out as a tradition to set them out for Santa and then as we got older we kept the tradition going.”
Baking is an easy, enjoyable way to get the whole family involved and the perfect way to spend time with your loved ones during the holiday season.
“My family gets together and has a huge cookie bake day,” said the Career and Technical Education Department Chairperson Dan Okoren. Turning cooking baking into a family tradition allows for your family to make life-long memories and learn new recipes to perfect over the years.
“I’ll take the extras and bring them to students,” explained Okoren. Cookies are the gift that keeps on giving and are a wonderful way to spread holiday cheer, especially for those who prefer to indulge instead.
If you aren’t sure what treats to cook up this holiday season, or you are looking for a new recipe to mix things up, here are a few cookie recommendations to sweeten your holiday season:

It is important that EVERYONE is able to take part in the holiday cheer. These allergen-free chocolate chip cookies are delicious and safe for anyone to enjoy!
“Eating is very emotional. It is more than just us eating for nourishment,” says Okoren. “It is social. And that happens at the table, but it also happens in the kitchen.” Baking cookies with loved ones during the holidays helps spread cheer to those who work in the kitchen and those who choose to enjoy the final product.
However you decide to spend the season, we hope OH Panthers have a happy holiday and a great new year!
