Freshman Noah Allan McIntyre, 15, unexpectedly died on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020. He passed away with his family surrounding him at Loyola Hospital. He was born on Oct. 27, 2004 in Aurora, Illinois.

Oswego School District spokesperson Theresa Komitas gave the news to district students and families.

“As a community, we grieve the unexpected loss of this young life; and we will keep his family in our hearts and thoughts at this incredibly difficult time,” Komitas said.

OHS principal Mr. Mike Wayne also made an announcement on Monday, Feb. 3, during second period, issuing another statement to students. Counselling is still available to students who need it in the OHS community room.

Noah was a member of the OHS cross country team and played in a travel basketball league. Noah was described by friends as outgoing and a kind-hearted person. Noah also served his community by going on mission trips.

Noah is survived by his mother, Jorie, father, Gerry, and brothers, Logan (senior at OHS) and Lucas, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Noah adored his dogs Kona and Thunder, whom he had a special bond with.

Noah saved many lives by donating his organs and tissue through the Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donation.

A celebration of Noah’s life will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a service at 11 a.m. at Community Christian Church in Plainfield, Ill. Internment is private.
