Oswego High School science teacher Ms. Nicole Larsen, age 42, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018. She was born on June 22, 1976, in Chicago and resided in Yorkville, Illinois. She taught biology, conceptual physical science, chemistry, honors anatomy and physiology, and medical topics during her 17 years working at Oswego High School. Ms. Larsen was a prom coordinator at OHS as well.
Ms. Larsen graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor of arts in biology and went on to receive master’s degrees from Aurora University and National Louis University.
In her free time, Ms. Larsen enjoyed water sports and spending time outdoors. She was also a big fan of the Chicago Blackhawks. She is survived by her fiancé, Timothy Berkery III; her sons, Joshua, Jack and Ryan Larsen; her stepdaughters, Rebecca and Morgan Berkery; her parents, Joseph and Shirley Ciszek; her brothers, Joseph Chirempes and Christopher Ciszek; as well as many students and other relatives. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville.
