My name is Jaylene Tinajero Garcia, and this is my second year being a part of 42fifty. I am a senior in high school. I am on the varsity cheer team. I love taking photos and videos of nature in my free time. I am really excited to start my career as a journalist.

As the school year begins, so do Friday night lights. The Oswego High School’s student section, Orange Crew, is preparing to bring on the school spirit at OH athletic events for the 2023-2024 school year.

OH’s only woman wrestler grapples her way to IHSA Sectionals

Meet Oswego High School junior wrestler Kaitlynn Valencia, known for taking down both opponents and gender norms. The 2022-2023 season is her first year to wrestle, but she has been gaining experience since the 2021-2022 season when she was working as the team’s manager.

OH hosts Mr. Oswego competition in spirit of homecoming week

This competition is an annual tradition at Oswego High School amongst their senior male students. The competition occurs every year during homecoming week, and the winner is crowned as Mr. Oswego. It’s a place for students to go and watch their classmates, and have a good laugh. This year, there were seven contestants who put on entertaining acts to take part in this event on Oct. 3, and Stephen Carico was awarded the crown.
