OH students create vintage-style clothing, focus on self-expression

Clothing isn’t just fabric on the body, it’s a form of self-expression. Two OH seniors, Carter Carson and Bastian Gonzales, have taken a step into the fashion industry creating a clothing brand that goes by the name Durante.  “Over the past year, Carter and I have gotten really into fashion and clothing in general,” said Gonzales. “One day, we just decided to act on it.”

After what were at first dismissed reports of creepers in downtown Oswego, hundreds of residents began sharing sightings of the green, boxy creatures in various locations throughout Oswego in recent days. "I wasn't sure if it was a publicity stunt to promote the upcoming flop of a film," OH junior Piers Markus said of the not-yet-released Minecraft movie. "But then, when I brought home one of the perfectly cuddly little guys, my mom freaked." On Mar. 8, women around the world celebrated International Women's Day, a global annual celebration that recognizes women's achievements, bringing awareness to gender-equal discrimination, and advocating for women's rights.  “It’s important to celebrate the success of women, and to [[acknowledge]] their contributions, ... how it's affected, and helped us where we are today,” said Jaclyn King, a sponsor of WE club.

New phone practices introduced in some classrooms at semester

At the beginning of the second semester, phone pouches went back into fashion as more teachers in several departments began to restrict phone use in classrooms.  Since the increase in technology use due to COVID-19, phone use in classrooms has also become more frequent. Some educators decided to clamp down on phone usage and follow through with a new cell phone practice for students.
