OH Mu Alpha Theta hosts annual junior high math competition, entertain teens
The OH chapter Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society, did an outstanding job presenting its most anticipated event of the year: The Junior High Math Competition. "The math competition is a junior high math competition that we hold every year and it’s our biggest event," Mu Alpha Theta Historian Jordan Trader said.
Empty, empty, empty: A lack of accessible menstrual products for students
If you ask OH students, they’ll tell you that they have never seen the school’s menstrual product dispensers stocked. While locations like the nurse’s office have free, available menstrual products for students, students do not have access to these necessary products in the school bathrooms. According to the Illinois General Assembly, “[[M]]enstrual hygiene products shall be made available in bathrooms of every school building that are open for student use in grades 4 through 12 during the regular school day,” and “school district[[s]] shall make menstrual (rather than feminine) hygiene products available, at no cost to students.”

Opinion: OH absenteeism continues as a pressing issue one year later
Although OH attendance has improved from last year, chronic absenteeism is still far above the national and IL state averages. This attendance issue has left many counselors, parents, and administrators uncertain about how to encourage students to come to school. According to the Illinois School Report Card, OH's chronic absenteeism percentage (the percentage of students who miss five percent or more of school days per year either with or without a valid excuse) dropped from 37.8% to 30.9%.
