Senior Column: So long, teenage years

Knowing you're the first kid in your family to finish high school can be overwhelming. Reaching the end of my teenage years, never seeing classmates again, and facing adulthood is also a lot. Growing up has always been a challenge for the typical teenager. We were once set on wanting to grow up and be an adult, and yet here we are wishing we were at our prime youth again.

Panther Writers succeed at Literary Fest

Student writers from OH and other neighboring schools traveled to Literary Fest, prepared to showcase their literature pieces. The event took place April 11 at Lewis University and was hosted by Minooka High School and Lit Fest coordinator Andres Garcia. "Lit Fest is a conference tournament where students submit writing pieces in various categories," OH English teacher and Lit Fest chaperone Abby Bartle said. "Judges read these pieces, and then at Lit Fest, they announce the winners for each category."

Rumors and speculation have arisen among residents of Oswego, and the most significant concern has been the sudden disappearance and uncanny appearances of residential mailboxes. Per the reports of the community, the culprit behind the mayhem seems to be a shape-shifting mailbox that feeds off resident's postcards and utility bills. “It’s a menace to society, that thing made a whole mailbox vanish in front of me and turned into the exact one he ate. That law-breaking mailbox should be arrested for its crimes,” said local Oswego Patch reporter John Jonah Jameson.

OH Mu Alpha Theta hosts annual junior high math competition, entertain teens

The OH chapter Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society,  did an outstanding job presenting its most anticipated event of the year: The Junior High Math Competition.  "The math competition is a junior high math competition that we hold every year and it’s our biggest event," Mu Alpha Theta Historian Jordan Trader said.
