On Fri., Sep. 4, under the Ken Pickerill stadium lights, OH OATS (Oswego Athletic Trainers) members, along with the football team, cheer, and dance, were crowned and walked side by side with their parents. This moment celebrated how far they’ve come in their high school, as well as, athletic training career.
“I feel great, feel full and loved. I just am surrounded by all my friends and family, and it’s just a great feeling to feel,” OH senior Brooke Trottier said, who is one of the many seniors who has impacted the OATS team and serves the group as OATS Secretary.
“I’m just proud of everything that I do for OATS being the secretary… sometimes it gets hard to just do all of that, but I just really enjoy it,” said Trottier.

Trottier’s impact was felt heavily on senior night, alongside other OATS members. The seniors weren’t the only OATS members who felt a wave of emotion, they left their mark on the junior class as well.

“Senior night was definitely the most emotional I’ve ever been at a school event,” said OH junior Brooklyn Domark. “I didn’t realize how much I’ve grown to love some of the seniors as much as I do until we were watching them walk onto the field.”
Senior OATS members also got a little sentimental, as this is a focal point in their senior year.
“Senior night made me realize I only have a couple more months with my friends,” OH senior Arianna Bacon added, highlighting just how pivotal a night like Senior Night is for those being recognized.
With the seniors passing the torch, the juniors are now looking up to these role models and taking notes on what their senior year may look like.

“The seniors this year really showed me what it means to be involved. I’ve learned so much from watching how they handle the busy training room after school, to just seeing them wrap injuries in real time. They always make an effort to include and encourage everyone,” Domark stated.
As the night came to a close, with seniors reflecting on their meaningful moments, a legacy was being left.
“Just have fun [and] don’t take anything for granted,” claimed Trottier, sharing advice for the juniors.
OATS is a highly time consuming extra curricular, but to be able to be a part of something this big is rare.
“OATS [has] given me so many memories and experiences that I’ll remember beyond high school,” Domark said, allowing her to carry an experience many can’t say they’ve had.
