With brand new choreography and 11 senior dancers, the varsity Pantherettes performed at halftime to honor their talented dancers during this year’s Senior Night.
“It feels like it’s about to be a fever dream,” OH Senior and dancer Aubrey Reding said during the lead up to Friday’s performance. ” I never want the night to end, and I’m just really excited.”
On Sept. 4th’s Senior Night, the Pantherettes hoped to show off their talents on the field while also allowing themselves to enjoy the celebration.
“My goal is to have a great time and soak in the whole night,” OH senior Alaina Bisgrove said in advance of their performance.
Practicing around two times a week, the varsity Pantherettes worked to perfect every element of each routine, choreographed by seniors Reding and Liv Kalkman. These practices allowed the senior dancers to build relationships with their younger teammates, helping to spark essential team chemistry during performances.
As the Pantherettes took the field last Friday, the crowd was captivated by the dancers’ intricate routine.
Audience member and OH senior Lyndsey Gargo said, “[The halftime routine] was really good, and I loved the song choices.”
The performance showcased all eleven seniors in unique ways, ending with the dancers running through a tunnel made by their teammates.
As the music cut, the Pantherettes stood hand in hand, and took their final bow, sharing a visual message future Pantherette dancers.
“We add[ed that] special senior section in the end [of the routine],” said Reding. “It show[ed] our growth as dancers from when we started.”
For OH senior dancers Lila Lieser, Ashlyn Budin, Lila Bush, Delaney Muehlfelder, Jazleen DeLatorre, Chloe Reichert, Alaina Bisgrove, Aubrey Reding, Hannah Carstensen, Ariana Bonesz, and Olivia Kalkman this Senior Night game marked one of their last performances together as a team.
Based on what the team has learned together over the years, they leave a legacy for the underclassmen and future Pantherette dancers.
“Show up for each other,” Bisgrove advised, “and make the best of every time the team is together.”
