Even though comedy may seem to be a less popular category of entertainment, the Kevin Langue Show (KLS) is a comedy YouTube channel with over four million subscribers. Langue’s connections and humor have brought a huge community together of fans all over the world.

The main cast consists of Kevin Langue, Denny Love, Aaron Branch, and Herman Wrice. With these four friends, they have developed a loyal fanbase as they join together to announce the Kevin Langue Show Tour on March 2.

“I think it’s so different because of how close all of them are, and how open they are, like guests and stuff, especially on [[Kevin Langue Show 2]],” said OH sophomore Angie Berger.

The usual format of their videos consists of trying to guess one person to a category out of a lineup of usually five people. For example, Match The Cat to The Owner and Match The Kid to the Grandma. With their second channel, KLS2 is a longer-form, unedited, playful banter among the cast, with the inclusion of their producer, Zane Helberg.

“Their ability to do stuff like [guessing videos] I think, is what makes it so different, and so much better,” said Berger.

The tight-knit friendship of the cast isn’t the only thing that is unique about KLS. There are times when one of the cast members is on another tour, so they decide to bring some special guests in, such as Christian Pierce, Trevor Wallace, and Audrey Stewart.

“I think that it makes the audience feel like they’re a part of [the team] because there’s even inside jokes, and if you understand them, it makes you feel like you’re laughing along with them,” said OH junior Sam Christian.

Given the success both channels have had, it’s a true mystery how quickly they became popular over the years. KLS posts TikToks of shorter, more edited versions of their long-form videos.

Many may say that social media has pushed KLS into the spotlight, as their shorter-form content has done very well, inspiring people to check out the channel for the full video.

“It’s easier for comedians to spread their humor now, I think that due to there being a lot of engagement on social media, there’s a wide range of audience,” said Christian.

With the tour soon to begin on May 8, the starting show being in Los Angeles, it has fans wondering how the cast will interact with the audience in front of them.

“They might ask for volunteers from the crowd, and I really hope they do because that would be really fun,” said Berger.

Tickets are available, and as of March 7, seven of the 18 tour dates have sold out. The tour’s overwhelming love and success are undeniable, the group writes in their Instagram post, “72 hours since public tickets went on sale…wow.”

The Chicago show will be on Jun. 18, and OH couldn’t be more excited to attend. If you’re interested in checking out tickets, click the link here for more information.

“I would love to go because I feel like it’s going to be really interactive,” said Christian.
