Upon the glow of the DJ lights and amid the cheers of friends, seniors Jazlyn Abella and Brendan Bisgrove were crowned Prom Queen and King on Saturday, May 3.
The 2025 prom court was composed of Bryson Norwood, Thomas Eberle, Brogan Kelsey, Adam Woods, Brendan Bisgrove, Rhiana Martinez, Shaniya Love, Kate Epstein, Jazlyn Abella, and Candice Turfuor.
Some students started campaigning for prom court either by themselves or in pairs, the week before the voting ended.
Senior Shaniya Love said, “I did [campaign], I just made sure to talk to a lot of people in the hall if they weren’t voting for anyone, and I tried to get my business involved with it.”
Tufuor got creative and was giving out desserts to people who voted for her, and some posted photos on social media.
When the official prom court was announced on Monday, April 28, students were excited to see who was getting nominated and if they were among the 10 seniors in the prom court.

“I felt like Brick did when his mom said he had eight free pizzas,” Love said after getting nominated. “I’m so happy!”
After the prom court was announced, members continued to campaign for prom king or queen, either on social media or in school. But only one pair became victorious in the end, and that was Abella and Bisgrove.
“In the moment, I was feeling anxious and unsure of who was going to win since I knew that everyone that made it onto the prom court was a great contender to win,” said Abella. “Overall, I was just proud that Brendan and I were able to win together and make it a memorable senior prom because of it.”
Getting crowned king and queen with their friends and fellow prom court members cheering them on made a memorable night for Bisgrove and Abella.
“I had a good time running for prom king, and I had some tough opponents. When I won, it was a surreal moment, but it was memorable,” said Bisgrove.
