Rapper Ken Carson released his fourth album, “More Chaos,” on Apr. 11, and in its first few weeks, the album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
“This was his best album yet,” said OH junior Keven Macintosh. “He’s one of the most consistent artists of this time, and his music gets better and better each time he releases.”
Carson has been on fire with music this decade, with back-to-back albums and his first-ever studio album gaining the number one spot on the Billboard 200 on Apr. 20. Critics have praised “More Chaos” for the album’s amazing storytelling, lyrics, and beats. Tracks from the album like “Trap Jump” and “Lord of Chaos” have caught the public’s attention and gone viral on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram reels.
“Trap Jump” was an incredible song by Carson; the meaning behind “Trap Jump” is a celebration of his success, luxury life, and what his life was like before he got there. It remarks on Carson’s rise from humble beginnings to an icon in the rap industry.

“Lord of Chaos” was the introduction to his new album; it gave us a more intense and aggressive tone, which fits the theme of the album and his style of rap. It had a lot of repetitive, overwhelming, and distorted beats, that were alright. However, he still had great vocal delivery with both songs.
Known for his groundbreaking beats and eclectic style, Carson has cultivated a fan base drawn to his amazing stage presence and music. His aesthetic and style have greatly influenced youth culture, inspired trends in streetwear, and even hinted in past interviews that he has upcoming clothing collaborations.
The album has a span of 21 rap tracks, exploring themes of rebellion and self-improvement. Carson announced that he will be going on his “Lord of Chaos” tour this summer, touring across four countries with a total of 38 concerts. He will also be taking a pit stop in yours truly, the Windy City, on Aug. 16, at Credit Union 1 Arena.
“His concerts are always exciting to be at, [and] the atmosphere of where you’re at during the concert hypes you up,” said OH junior Nate Bjes.
Fans are extremely excited because his concerts match the crowd’s energy with the bright lights, electric energy, and his fans’ exciting mosh pits. The community of his fans is very strong; he was just an underground artist a few years ago, but now he has risen to the top, being one of the most popular artists in mainstream music.
“He did an amazing job finishing off the ‘Chaos’ era, the next album will be even greater with new sounds and a new era,” Macintosh said.
Overall, the album is a 9.5/10. It’s a great way to get you up when you’re in a down mood. The beats in all the songs sound great.
As Ken Carson continues to change the sound and style of the new generation, it’s very clear he’s not just making noise–he’s making history. With power on his side, the chaos is only just beginning as he continues to shine.
