The OH boys’ baseball team is back and ready for this year’s season. The team has had a productive off-season in preparation for the spring season. With the results of the tryouts already out and the first game coming soon, it’s exciting to see what this team can do this year.

“ [I’m going to] be a great teammate, be a culture guy, help the team out in any way possible. we’re definitely going to practice a lot more and hopefully make it to state,” said varsity senior Andrew Smart.

The team this year is really focused on the teamwork aspect of the game but is still improving on the individual skills and the team is going to find a lot of success in the season because of it.

“ ] taking a lot of reps in the cage, working on my pitch mix, taking some fly balls, and just working with my team,” said varsity junior Kamden Koehler.

The team has been doing a lot of repetitions to get better for the season and the hopes are high for the team this year. With the 23-24 season ending in a 19-13 record, the team looks to improve this record and have high goals for this season.

“ We’re gonna be a good squad. We have a lot of talent. I think we could definitely go further in the playoffs. And I think we have a chance to win the conference. Honestly,I think our record’s gonna be pretty good this year.” said Koehler.

The team has some interesting and key players this year with many athletes already showing promise in the future such as junior Kamrin Jenkins committing to the University of Missouri and senior Gabriel Herrera committing to Aurora University.

With the amount of talent, hard work, and effort that’s gone into this season, it’s definitely going to be worth seeing what the team can accomplish.
