Who doesn’t love money? The Panther Credit Union (PCU) workers, a group of young sales people dedicated to helping students with their financial guidance, sure do.
These students are taking their first steps into the finance world and understanding how banking systems work.
“The PCU provides students the opportunity to learn more about finances to improve their resume with work experience, and for students not a part of PCU, it provides a risk-free way to learn more about how banking works through the school and Earthmover Credit Union,” said OH senior Gavin Coker.
This group of financiers has the opportunity to work during school hours with the Panther Credit Union and give other students a chance for financial assistance and a head start for the future.
“PCU carries the same values as Earthmover Credit Union. We care about the quality of the products and service we offer, the urgency to answer a member’s needs/concerns, our strong integrity, maintaining strong relationships with our members and the community at OHS, and finally our passion to changing people’s lives and seeing our community prosper,” said PCU advisor Diego Ramirez.
The PCU has a team full of valuable members who dedicate themselves to making sure the community has a bright future. The PCU offers Student Savings Accounts, Student Checking and Debit, Low Rate Auto Loans (New & Used), VISA Platinum Cards, etc.
“I like being able to be in a class with people that want to learn the same thing that I do, share the same values and certain interests, making it easy to connect with them. We got to work during a free period and got paid for it. Diego, the supervisor, is a really nice guy, and showed us how to do our job,” said OH senior Yael Vasquez.
The teamwork and leadership shown by each individual are what bring the organization to its fullest potential, broadcasting a positive effect on the community. If you seek financial assistance or are interested in joining the PCU team, make sure to stop by. They are located near the cafeteria.
“PCU is open every Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 4A – 6B. Follow our Instagram @PantherCU, as that’s where we announce our contests, updates, etc.” said Ramirez.
“We’re here for anyone, and we want to see all students succeed with their finances,” Ramirez added. “So if you have any questions at all, please stop by the Panther Credit Union.”
