The OHS Speech Team has successfully found a coach and is ready to begin their season.
The new head speech coach is Freshman Counselor Mr. Mattes, who has been at Oswego High School for two years. During the team’s first meeting on Monday, October 17, Mr. Mattes said that he was willing to take on the position of head coach after seeing multiple emails about the position and to ensure that seniors on the team were able to compete during their final year of high school. The team is eager to begin working with Mr. Mattes and to help both the new coach and members learn more about speech.
There is still time to join this OHS extracurricular. The speech team’s next meeting will be Monday, October 23 in Room 26. New members will be learning about the events and auditioning for event placement. Varsity members will be aiding in this process.
