Last week, OHS participated in a district-wide food drive. The food collection will continue at the Oswego-Oswego East Crosstown game tonight.
At the game, the schools who collected the most food- one elementary, one junior high, and one high school- will be announced. So far the drive has received over 85,000 items, and expects another 1,000 tonight.
The food will be donated to the Kendall County Community Food Pantry, which serves around 7,000 families in the Kendall County area. In addition to food, they also provide clothing, toiletries, household products, and even food for family pets.
Last year, the district food drive collected 113,181 items in total. The district has been holding an annual food drive for at least the past 4 years.
Be sure to bring canned goods to tonight’s Cross-Town game to support OHS and the cause!
Check back Monday for a follow up, grand-total from this year’s drive.
