Going for the gold: How local Girl Scouts are giving back to the Oswego community
Although Girl Scouts are known nationwide for their trademark cookie sales, many people do not know the work they do throughout the year to give back to their community. OH Scouts are among the thousands worldwide working toward prestigious awards like the Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards for service projects in their community.
Co-op gymnastics team leaps ahead of competition
With a current rank of second in state and an all-around program high score of 145.95, the girls' OH and OE co-op gymnastics team is soaring above expectations and smashing through previous barriers. The team has crushed their competition since the beginning of their season this winter, but both the team and their coaches have no intention of backing down. Sophomore Alenna Holden performs a routine on the uneven bars, contributing to the team's program high score. After boasting numerous Athletes of the Week like OH senior Ava Sullivan and breaking school records in recent competitions, the girls' team has brought well-deserved recognition and attention to the sport they are so passionate about.
