With the end of the school year fast approaching, many people are excited to receive their yearbooks. And the best part of receiving yearbooks is getting signatures from friends. Those signatures can be a reminder of who that person is for years to come. However, it can be difficult for those graduating to receive signatures from those who aren’t, and vice versa. “Seniors will receive their books right after graduation practice,” said OH Reflector yearbook advisor Ewa Tulak. “Underclassmen will receive yearbooks during lunches that following Monday.”

The Cupid Shuffle is an annual dance hosted around Valentine’s Day in the athletics or "Main Street" hallway, where OH Panthers get the chance to have fun before school and dance. It begins and ends shortly before first period. In a cold month, the Cupid Shuffle is a welcome break from worries and a fun activity for friends. “It’s a...

Thriller and mystery genre fans have eagerly awaited the second season of Squid Games. Although shock and surprise inevitably wane with the returning season, new games are introduced that test the morality and strength of the characters who face these harrowing, fatal challenges. Released on Netflix Dec. 26, the season started with the winner of last season's Squid Games rejoining to try and stop the next games, resulting in chaos and tragedy. This moment was waited upon for over three years, as season one was released in Sept. of 2021, causing a pouring of views and excitement on social media. Seong Gi-Hun, better known as player 456, dives back into the games to try and uncover who is behind them. Some old games are brought back, while others are brand new. More challenges push people to their limits, as desperate people fight for money. “Even though season two is cool, the nostalgia of season one hits differently,” said senior Isabella Johnson. “There was so much hype the first season; seeing the internet so engaged in one singular thing was cool.”

Daylight savings effects: Tips and activities for student motivation

As winter approaches, the sun sets much earlier, leaving the sky darkening before dinner begins. Credit: Monaco Tiffany, 42Fifty

It is common for students to feel dreary and unenthusiastic as the winter season approaches, and the sun sets early as if their day has already ended merely an hour after school. Although this feeling can be difficult to overcome, there are ways to make seasonal depression endurable. Seasonal depression, also known as Seasonal Affective Disorder, is a mood disorder characterized by depression-like symptoms in response to specific seasonal changes. Many students suffer from seasonal depression, so it is not something that only one student experiences at a time. These symptoms typically occur during the winter in response to shorter daylight hours and the weather. “The early nights in winter are tough for me,” said Samoria Claybron, OH senior. “I often feel more tired, and I’ll look at the clock to see that it is only 5:30 P.M., yet it’s already pitch black outside.”

On Saturday, October 5th, the Panther Marching Band performed at the Downers Grove Mustang

This year, the Panther Marching band performed "Pale Blue Dot," a show whose themes conveyed through the performance “the best show [[they]]’ve had” in the past four years, according to OH senior and Marching Band trumpet section leader Stephen Balhan.
