In defense of rom-coms
Romantic Comedies are notorious for being cheesy pick-me-ups with positive endings, and with Valentine's Day approaching it is both the best and worst time of year for rom-com fans. They have an excuse to watch their favorite genre but often must overcome adversity from critics. Often, people see romantic comedies as nothing more than cheesy visual fluff. They start with the same meet-cute between the two opposite leads and spend another hour going back and forth.
Hopes are high for the rest of the boy’s varsity basketball season
The OH varsity boys basketball team has about 5 weeks left in their season, but they are hoping to turn their record around and finish the year off strong. At a current record of 4-15, they have had both highs and lows on their journey to train a young team.
Commotion competition season begins
The award-winning Oswego Commotion group began their competition season on Saturday, Jan. 20, with energy and the first award of the season: the People’s Choice Award.
The Smile: Beauty in being unsettled
Radiohead is undeniably one of the most prolific bands to rise out of the 90’s. Whether they are within personal taste or not, it is challenging to deny that their music has a sound few groups can compete with. Thom Yorke, the frontman of Radiohead, is one of the most unique-minded musicians in the business and has since developed a newer project called Smile, a group consisting of drummer Tom Skinner, Yorke’s fellow bandmate Johnny Greenwood, and Yorke himself.
