OH tennis has been swinging for greatness this spring with a 13-1 record on the season against some tough competitors.
“It’s actually been a great season so far… it’s a lot of guys back from last year, so it’s really fun to watch them grow from last year as well,” said head OH boys tennis coach Zachary Horn.
Varsity athletes Griffin Olson and Jimmy Guo have defined themselves as the top two singles players on the team and play doubles matches on weekends.
“They had a really good match on Saturday against a team that got fifth in state in 1A doubles. They took them to three sets so it was really exciting… we were a couple close matches away from beating them,¨ said Horn.
The WWE Universe is back in full effect with WWE 2K25's release on Mar. 14 and WrestleMania 41 right around the corner.
“[[WrestleMania is]]…a popular thing with fans. It would be a good idea to release the game when fans are excited about the subject matter,” said OH and OE's co-op Esports coach Amy Whitlock.
OH students and staff are locking in their brackets with March Madness just around the corner. It’s a 68-team bracket for the National Championship where the winner advances on and the loser is eliminated.
“The most exciting part is having your first couple picks hit, but then realizing how impossible it is to get a perfect bracket,” said OH junior basketball player Luke Roller.
Former basketball star LiAngelo Ball has garnered much success to start ‘25 with the release of his new single ‘Tweaker’ which has landed him a multi-million dollar record deal and a spot at a big music festival. As the song's popularity grew on TikTok, OH student body opinions were gathered from those who have listened.
“The beat... I feel that it captures the Y2K feeling even though I kind of don’t like what they do nowadays with that type of stuff,” said OH senior Yari Taylor.
There have been mixed opinions about it, but the song is reminiscent of the early 2000s hip-hop sound with a charismatic, catchy chorus and a southern-inspired beat.
After 24 years, the story of a Roman-era gladiator continues as a surprise sequel. Oswego movie lovers and Gladiator fans anxiously compared the two films and see if the sequel lived up to its beloved predecessor.
“I will be very curious to see how they do it... I read there was an initial thought of bringing Russell Crowe back... they obviously feel money can be made,” said OH Social Studies Teacher Christopher Neitzel.
