OH suffers first home loss in 8 years vs. Minooka
Oswego (8-1) and Minooka (9-0) faced off in a football game that would decide the champion of the Southwest Prairie Conference this past Friday. The Panthers dominated the conference over the last decade, but their unprecedented stretch came to an end on Friday, with a 28-21 Indian victory.
Team effort carries Panthers to 15th consecutive Crosstown win
Oswego High School (7-0, 3-0) took on its rival from down Wolf’s Crossing, Oswego East (4-3, 0-3), in the 15th annual Crosstown Game. The Panthers came in looking to stay undefeated in both the season and the all-time series against the Wolves. Oswego played a complete game on both sides of the football, winning 14-3.

Just hours removed from the saddening news, the Panthers (3-0) took to the gridiron to take on Plainfield South (1-2), where the Panthers would defeat the visiting Cougars 34-6.
Pradel and Panther offense shine in week 1 romping of Plainfield Central
The Oswego Panthers varsity team opened up its football season on Friday when it played and defeated Plainfield Central 42-3. The offensive attack was lead by junior first year starting quarterback Cole Pradel, who threw for 167 yards and two touchdowns in just two quarters of play. Senior running back Charles Laird also was a major contributor to the offense, cashing in three touchdowns.
Tiger’s win was historic, but it shouldn’t have happened
Golf is a funny sport. Usually in a tournament of this magnitude, a few things happen to help the eventual victor win: tragedy and crucial mistakes by one or more players, great golf by the winner, and a bit of luck from outside forces. All three were in effect on Sunday in Augusta.
