OH girls’ volleyball wins Regionals to hold onto their 3Peat title
Finishing their season strong, the OH girls’ volleyball team won Regionals for the third time in a row. The 2025 team was a strong and supportive group that worked together through it all. OH right side senior Renee Egger said, “We just stayed as a team the whole time. We always stayed as a family,” expressing how they became Regional champions three times. Regionals was an end goal for the team. Many moments during the season made this a season to remember.

Wiertel fulfills goal by winning 2A IHSA girls golf state championship
Starting her high school career, OH sophomore Alli Wiertel has gained national popularity due to her impressive golf accomplishments. With conference champs 1x and regional champs 2x, Wiertel has led her team to amazing results. This season, she was the individual Southwest Prairie Conference (SPC) girls' golf champion. At the conference tournament, she fired a 68, which secured her the win by 11 strokes. The top individual scored a 65 at the regional championship; at sectionals, she placed second. Wiertel has practically been playing golf for her entire life. “My dad got me into golf,” said Wiertel. “I started when I was four years old and started my first tournaments when I was eight.” Oswego’s Co-Op girls golf team Head Coach Brian Chandler shared his insights on Wiertel’s amazing golf talent.
OH Pantherettes: Jazzing up halftime game after game
With music and poms, the OH Pantherettes show off their fantastic routines on the football field at Ken Pickerill Stadium during the Friday Night Lights home games. “We practice for 10 hours plus in one day over the summer, training for our [[dances]] that we will perform,” said OH junior Alaina Bisgrove. One goal of Pantherettes is to help pump up the crowd and support their OH junior varsity and varsity football teams. From jazz to hip-hop, “there are a lot of small details in [[our dances]] that really add to it, and the music is really fire,” said Bisgrove, with a smile from ear to ear.
Justin Holden: Looking at life from behind the lens
Photography isn't just a hobby; it's a profession for OH junior Justin Holden. Starting his freshman year, Holden has grown in popularity in the photography world. From growing his social media presence to securing amazing opportunities, Holden has launched a career for himself. “I found a camera at my house, and my sister had a gymnastics meet,” said Holden. “So [[I just went]] to get some pictures of her.” For Holden, this simple act is how it all started. He grew his popularity, social media presence, and skills by taking pictures for media day, Friday night lights, basketball games, and other events.
