On Sat. 10th, 2026, Oswego High School head varsity football coach Brian Cooney has taken Panther Pride to a national level after being selected to coach in the Navy Bowl, one of the country's premier high school all-American football games. OH senior Kaleb Stumpenhorst said, “He's been putting in a lot of work since he started here. He played here and then went through everything.” The honor of being selected to coach not only put Cooney in the spotlight but the whole Panther football program in the national spotlight, highlighting years of dedication to the program. Cooney said the opportunity came unexpectedly. “I received a phone call from a member of this All-Star Game who informed me that they would like to extend the opportunity for me to coach in this game.”

From Nov. 24 to the 28, OH hosted the annual Hoops for Healing tournament to help raise funds for Camp Hope through Edwards Cancer Center. This was the first main event on the refurbished OH main gym floor since the early Nov. opening. The game inaugurated the gleaming OH main gym floor, which was reopened after being closed for repairs after flooding in late August. “I thought [[the repairs were]] going to be a lot longer," said Varsity Boys' Basketball Head Coach and Kinetic Wellness teacher Nick Oraham. "I think they fixed it in a pretty quick, efficient manner, and I think it looks really good.”
