NailsbyJu1ie: One OH senior’s journey to nail art and business success
In the world of high school seniors, balancing schoolwork, social life, and future plans can be challenging. But for one talented student, creativity shines through in a unique way- a skilled nail artist. What started as a simple hobby quickly grew into something much bigger. With dedication and practice, she gained her skills by experimenting with different colors, patterns, and techniques. “I started the hobby of doing my own nails in June 2023. When I first started, I didn’t even think it would be a business or anything. I just wanted to have cute nails and not pay a crazy amount at salons,” said OH senior Julie Martinez.
OH Pantherettes: Jazzing up halftime game after game
With music and poms, the OH Pantherettes show off their fantastic routines on the football field at Ken Pickerill Stadium during the Friday Night Lights home games. “We practice for 10 hours plus in one day over the summer, training for our [[dances]] that we will perform,” said OH junior Alaina Bisgrove. One goal of Pantherettes is to help pump up the crowd and support their OH junior varsity and varsity football teams. From jazz to hip-hop, “there are a lot of small details in [[our dances]] that really add to it, and the music is really fire,” said Bisgrove, with a smile from ear to ear.
Are you enchanted? OH Homecoming ’25 theme released
Homecoming is a yearly dance that takes place in the fall at almost every high school, and each year, the OH Student Council chooses a theme and coordinating decorations for the students. The theme chosen for this fall was Enchanted Garden. Since the theme of Homecoming influences a school-wide event and is created by the Student Council Board, OH senior Community Service Liaison, Sahar Zaheer said taking part in Student Council is of value in making decisions like this because it raises awareness of community service. She recommends service like this to her classmates. “We are [[here]] for the students and want to help emphasize their voices,” she added.
