With the new addition of Myles Garret and the resigning of Aaron Donald to the Rams, Chicago Bears fans are hesitant of this new dynamic duo. The Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Bears are both part of the NFC Conference in the NFL and are known to be tough opponents.
In recent years, both teams have made appearances in the playoffs and continue to be a struggle for other teams. In this past off season the Rams made a blockbuster trade for Myles Garrett.
They acquired him for star edge rusher Jared Verse, a first, second, and third round pick. As well as this addition, they had veteran Defensive Tackle, Aaron Donald come out of retirement to play for them. They added these key players to attempt to advance through the playoffs and get back to the Super Bowl as they did in 2022.
Three sport athlete, and OH senior Graham Schwab said he has “been a Bears fan ever since he was a little kid.” Schwab, who is currently the starting running back for the OH varsity football team, has dedicated his life to being a Bears fan.
Schwab has gone even as far as having a Bears lanyard as well as a license plate cover. In addition to displaying his love for the bears, he has many opinions on the season. Schwab said “he does not believe that Aaron Donald or Myles Garrett will be good this year.” On Sept. 10 against the 49ers, Garrett seemed off as he had zero pressure, which is unusual for the reigning single season sack leader.
OH senior Grayson Raethz, a defensive tackle for the OH varsity football team, says he was born into being a Bears fan and always has been. Raethz said “I’m not too worried about the rams this year.”
Raethz believes since the Bears do not play the Rams during the regular season we have nothing to worry about. He also mentioned the September 10th game, after the Rams took a demanding 27-7 loss.
Raethz believes the bears “definitely have a chance to make the playoffs.” The Bears made a playoff run last year but eventually lost in the NFC divisional round.
Lastly, the Rams have been one of the highest praised teams going into the 2026 season. According to Yahoo Sports, “the combination of Garrett and Donald means this team has a chance to rank with the greatest teams in the past two decades”.
Seemingly, does the NFL need to prepare for this power pair or will they be a bust as some fans think they will? Yahoo Sports, said “the Rams are motivated after losing to the eventual super bowl champs, Seattle Seahawks.”
Will this year be the year for the Bears, the Rams, or will another team surge throughout the season?
